Just the other week, we were treated to not one, but two lookbooks to support the New Balance Made in UK Season 1 ’19 Collection, one of which was shot in Flimby, and the other in Soho, London. You can see both lookbooks by checking out our last two posts!
To support the collection, we were lucky enough to be invited to attend a launch event in Soho a couple of weeks ago.
Arriving at the venue and heading downstairs, our eyes were immediately drawn to a Made in UK Legacy display which had been compiled with the help of some New Balance enthusiasts. It featured elusive pairs such as the M1500BB x Solebox x Crooked Tongues ‘Bread & Butter’ from ’05, as well as our very own M1500CHF ‘Chosen Few’ from 2012.
Moving round the room, there was an embroidery machine which had literally been lifted straight out of the Flimby Factory in Cumbria, and was creating a nice little keepsake in the form of an embroidered tongue piece.
The Made in UK Season 1 ’19 collection was also on display in all it’s glory, with some highlights for us in particular being the M1530OGG from the ‘1500 30th Anniversary Pack’, as well as a M991.9 colourway which is still set to release.
There were three shoes that seemed to steal the show a bit. These three were tucked away beside the Legacy display and are three upcoming M1500 colourways which feature some unique patterns on their uppers. The Tiger Camo is our particular favourite!
Thanks to New Balance for having us! Scroll down to check out the some images from the event.
