It feels like it’s been a little while since there were some New Balance 1500 colourways that have actually made us very excited, but we’re patient people, and finally, these two pairs from the Made in UK New Balance 1500 “Norwegian Wood” Pack are absolute bangers.
However, we have to admit, we’re not entirely sure where the “Norwegian Wood” reference comes from… if anyone wants to fill us in, then please do so. I can only imagine that it’s to do with the colours you’re likely to find in woodland during the autumn season? That seems reasonable enough to me!
In all honesty, we kinda wish these lost the pack title and regarded as just two excellent GR’s as that’s what they are… Excellent.
Anyway, moving on, let’s look at the New Balance 1500RO first, our favourite of the two;
This pair features a forest green suede toe wrap and heel wrap, tan saddle, with orange mesh underlays and an orange leather collar. On top of this, we have a navy tongue featuring orange stitching with an orange reverse, and navy lining. Of course, you’ve got your 3M detailing thrown in there too on the toe, N piece, and piping around the heel. The rear section of the off-white Encap midsole features a navy block with orange speckle, and orange Encap.
Definitely feeling the autumn vibes with this pair!
Next up is the New Balance 1500RT;
This pair features a maroon suede toe wrap and heel wrap, grey saddle, with teal mesh underlays and the same coloured leather collar. On top of this, we have a black tongue featuring teal stitching with the same coloured reverse, and black lining.
Like the first pair, 3M detailing on the toe, N piece and 3M piping around the heel. The rear section of the off-white Encap midsole features a black block with tea speckle, and teal Encap.
We’re particularly liking the use of the actual ‘N’ pieces rather than the embroidered logo that we usually see… giving off some Norse Projects 1500 “Danish Weather” Pack vibes. We reckon these would go hand in hand with them.
