New Balance 1500NO and 1500WR

With the New Balance 1500 making it’s debut in 1989 as a performance running shoe, there’s no question that the 1500 holds a special place in sneaker folklore. Designed by Steve Smith, this model has stood the test of time and is one of the most recognisable New Balance silhouettes.

Some of New Balance’s finest work on the 1500 silhouette came in the 2000’s, and back in 2006, many colourways of the 1500 dropped but we’d like to draw your attention to two in particular – the 1500NBO and 1500BWR.

To this day, these two colourways are still two of the most sought after New Balance colourways, and command a retail price that most definitely requires copious amounts of your finest local currency.

Fear not though, as this summer, New Balance are bringing back these colourways, albeit, they may not be just as perfect as the first time around (we hear you!), but they are still great, and you can put us down for one of each, that’s for sure.

Made in the Flimby factory in England’s Lake District, we see these two New Balance 1500’s in their archival colourways, dressed in premium nubuck with leather detailing throughout, that lovely deep mesh, and of course, sat atop the trademark ENCAP midsole, with the 1500NO colourway even being treated to the gum sole which we seen on the original.

Both of these colourways are set to drop at HANON this week from July 1st.

Check out some details of both colourways below:
