As you may know, New Balance recently just opened a store in the German capital Berlin. Sadly, we weren’t able to attend the opening of the flagship store opening, but be sure to read on to see what went down on the night, and on top of that, take a look at the super limited edition New Balance 998 “Berlin” that they produced for the grand opening.
The store is located on Münzstraße 21, 10178, in the trendy Mitte district of Berlin, and is the first standalone store in Germany’s capital, and is kitted out with a broad collection of New Balance footwear and apparel, along with everyone’s favourite silhouettes from their lifestyle range, such as the premium Made in UK and Made in USA releases.
On top of the premium lifestyle collections, New Balance have also populated the store with their recent performance range of Fresh Foam, Vazee, and NBx, and if you wanna pair your trainers with some matching apparel, then don’t worry, the store has got you covered! You’ll find an extensive collection of innovative clothing, as well as New Balance’s latest offerings from their football and tennis ranges, and like any store with performance running should have, the Berlin store is offering gait analysis via the Global pre-launch of Stride ID.
Stride ID is New Balance’s own technology that matches footwear to your feet, and we’ll be sure to keep you all posted with more news about that when we get it!
The building in which New Balance Berlin is situated, was originally built in 1891 in the Former East Berlin area, and bridging the gap between old and new, New Balance have retained the traditional architecture and gothic characteristics of the building, while offering a truly interactive and memorable brand experience once through the door.
The store itself spans across two floors, with the ground floor focussing on innovation and performance with LED screens providing an immersive experience, as well as interactive screens which allow runners to explore New Balance’s latest collaborations with online athlete communities.
On the ground floor, you’ll find performance running and training collections, complete with a sports bra bar and leggings wall, offering a choice of clothing and footwear to keep the runners of Berlin kitted out for all their running needs. The ground floor will also offer tennis and football product seasonally with the range of Visaro and Furon football boots.
Moving on upstairs, the lifestyle products such as limited edition styles and New Balance classics are sure to cater for the huge amount of sneakerheads and enthusiasts that Berlin and the rest of Germany has.
Fran Allen, vice present New Balance EMEA, said: “We are delighted to open our new store here in Berlin, which is already attracting interest from runners and New Balance lifestyle enthusiasts alike and provides a strong footprint for New Balance through innovation, craftsmanship and authenticity.”
We’re looking forward to checking out the store in person whenever we make it to Berlin, but until then, check out some shots from the launch below.
