It was only a matter of time before the legendary 997 silhouette was given the deconstructed treatment, and we’re definitely not mad at it.
Alright, it’s not as good as the 997 that we’re all used to, but it’s quite interesting, and definitely feels good on.
The New Balance 997R features a sock-like inner with a deconstructed 997 shell as the upper, with stand out leather pull tabs on the tongue and heel, plenty perforations across the toe, and is all sat atop a REVLITE sole unit.
Sadly, we’ve not been able to get our hands on the OG style grey colourway that’s out there, but if we had to buy a pair, it would definitely be that one.
Much like the 1978 and 1991 silhouettes of recent times, we’re not sure this silhouette will last, maybe more of just an experiment from NB, but who knows, we may be completely wrong.
If either of these colourways take your fancy, then both are available to buy now at HANON.
